Meet Dr. Christie Shen

Dr. Christie Shen grew up in sunny Los Angeles. Having spent a large part of her life in braces, she knows firsthand just how much a confident smile can change someone’s life. After an amazing experience volunteering with her own orthodontist in high school, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming an orthodontist.

Dr. Shen earned her undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and attended dental school at the University of Southern California. Following dental school, she moved to Philadelphia to specialize in orthodontics at the University of Pennsylvania. She graduated with a certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, as well as a Master of Science in Oral Biology for her research on molar distalization with clear aligners and temporary anchorage devices. She became a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics soon after.

She moved to New York to start her career and fell in love with the city’s vibrant culture and energy. She is excited to connect with her new community on Staten Island and help her patients achieve their best smiles.

Outside of the office, she enjoys dancing ballet, as well as listening to music and going to concerts. In addition, she loves discovering new neighborhoods and restaurants. She has an obsession with chocolate chip cookies and is always searching for the best cookie in the city.
